pic ABOUT US

Here at Mansfield Faith, we are a family. We are just regular people trying to do life together. We don’t pretend to have all the answers. In fact, our search for the answers constantly reminds us of our need for a savior, and our total dependence on him. We are normal people living life, trying to fully become the people and the church that God created us to be. We look forward to meeting you, and building relationships with you and yours. There’s always room for one more.

Our Ministry Focus

"Helping People Fully Become Who God Created Them to Be!"

Seek ~ Serve ~ Share

The key to happiness and fulfillment in life:

  1. We all need something to hope for. (Seek)
  2. We all need something to do. (Serve)
  3. We all need someone to love. (Share)

We believe that a balanced pursuit of these three areas in life will lead to growth "all by itself", ultimately helping us to fully become who God created us to be!

Seek

To "Seek" means to pursue God.  The Bible says that we should "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you as well."  We take this to heart.  We believe that the absolute most important questions in life are the "God Questions."  Why am I here?  How did I get here?  Do I believe in God?  What do I believe about Him?  Can I know Him personally?  How do I go about establishing a personal connection to God?  Until these questions are answered, nothing else matters.  BUT - even after we've moved far beyond these initial questions, our quest for God should never end.  Every day of our lives we should seek to know God more fully, more intimately, and more personally.

Serve

To put it bluntly, our world is too into itself.  We are all pre-conditioned to start thinking that the world revolves around "me!"  In order to grow - we need to push ourselves to live for something bigger than "self."  We must learn to give of ourselves, our time, our energy, our abilities, our resources.  If we are to have any hope of "fully becoming" something better than we are today - then we must learn to daily "live beyond ourselves!"

share

People in our world today are rapidly losing the ability to develop and sustain healthy relationships.  We can be in massive crowds of people, and yet still feel totally alone and isolated.  In this world of email, text messaging, cell phones, and instant messages we are quickly becoming and feeling more alone than man has ever felt before.  If we are going to grow and become - then we MUST learn to share our lives with others.  We need to learn to let down our guard and let people in, to make time for people, and to put forth the effort to build relationships.  We were created for relationships.  We were not meant to live life alone.  We cannot possibly become the men and women that God created us to be outside of the context of healthy relationships - in both our families and our friendships

What We Believe

The Word of god

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (Mark 12:32; Mark 13:31; John 10:35; John 17:17; Acts 3:18; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; II Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews11:1-2; II Peter 1:20-21)

The Trinity

We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, (God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit), that these three are equal in every divine perfection and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption. (Matthew 28:19; John 14:16-17; John 15:26; I Corinthians 12:4-6; Ephesians 2:13; Hebrews 1:8; Hebrews 9:14)

God the Father

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love.  We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to him through Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20; John 3:16; I Corinthians 8:6; II Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 1:3-6; Ephesians 1:17-20; Hebrews 1:1-5)

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit.  We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings.  We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and His personal, visible return to earth.   (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-23; John 14:1-3; I Corinthians 15:1-4; II Corinthians 5:18-19; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Hebrews 9:14)

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ.  We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide.  He produces fruit in the lives of believers and gives them spiritual gifts to serve the church.  Believers are commanded to be filled with the Holy Spirit. . (John 4:16-17; John 15:26; John 16:7-14; Romans 8:9; Romans 8:14; Romans 8:16; Romans 8:27; Ephesians 1:13-14; Hebrews 9:14)

Regeneration

We believe that all men are sinners by nature and by choice, and are, therefore under condemnation.  We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (Luke 1:13-15; John 1:12-15; John 3:18; Romans 3:9-28; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:8-13; Ephesians 2:4-6; Titus 3:5-6; I Peter 1:23-25; II Peter 3:9)

The Church

We believe in the universal church; a living, spiritual body of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members.  We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith and associated for worship, work, and fellowship.  We believe that God has laid upon the members of the worlds. (Matthew 16:16-18; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:37-47; Romans 12:5; I Corinthians 1:2; I Corinthians 12:12; Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18; Colossians 3:14-15; Titus 3:1-9)

Christian Conduct

We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well being of his fellow men, that his conduct should be blameless before the world, and that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions, that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. (I Corinthians 6:12; I Corinthians 6:19-20; I Corinthians 10:3-13; II Corinthians 8:1-7; II Corinthians 9:6-8; Philippians 2:13; I Peter 2:2; II Peter 3:14-18)

The Ordinances

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church:  Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.  We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water into the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Baptism illustrates dying to our old life of sin and rising from the dead to live a new life for God.  It parallels Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection.  The new believer is “buried” or submerged into water, symbolizing death, and then brought up out of the water, demonstrating new life in Christ.  We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for the commemoration of His death, and is open to all believers who are in right  relationship with God. And should be done in respect and honor on a consistent basis, although not allowed to become just a symbol but treated in honor and reverence as Christ commanded his disciples. (do this often in remembrance of me) We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 3:13-17, 26:26-29, 28:19-20; Luke 22:15-20; Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:2-5; I Corinthians 11:23-24)

Religious Liberty

We believe that every human being has direct relations with God and is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith, that every church is independent and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority and that, therefore, church and state must be kept separate as having different functions, each fulfilling its duties free from dictation or patronage of the other. (Matthew 22:20-21; John 14:6; Acts 4:19-20; Romans 13:1-7; I Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 4:14-16; I Peter 2:13-17)

Church Cooperation

We believe that local churches can best promote the cause of Jesus Christ by cooperating with one another in harmony. Such harmony exists and functions by the will of the churches.    Churches may likewise cooperate with interdenominational fellowships and outside organizations that exist to glorify the Body.  (Acts15:13-18; I Corinthians 16:1-4; II Corinthians 8:1-9, 18-24)

Return of Christ and Judgment

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishing of His kingdom.  We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal bliss of the righteous and a literal suffering for those who reject Christ as their Savior.   (Isaiah 13:9-11; Daniel 12:1-3; Malachi 4:1-3; Matthew 13:49-50, 24:15-28; Luke 12:35-40, 17:26-30; John 14:1-4; Acts 15:14-17; I Corinthians 15:35-38; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; II Thessalonians2:1-23; II Timothy 3:1-7; Jude 1:14-15; Revelation 1:4-7 )
